Would you like to feel like a child again? Or spend an exciting day with your child? If so, we invite you to Legendia – the Silesian Amusement Park located in the Silesian Park in Chorzów, Poland. This is the older and slightly more modest sister of Energylandia.
There are plenty of attractions waiting for you in the Silesian Voivodeship. You must see them!
Legendia – attractions – photos
The Silesian Amusement Park was the oldest amusement park in Poland. It’s established in 1959. It was extremely popular among lovers of good fun and adrenaline rushes. In 1970, it’s reportedly visited by as many as 2 million tourists! In 2015, the Tatry Mountain Resorts group invested in the time-worn amusement park. A thorough renovation was carried out, which significantly beautified and modernized the facility, and also added a bit of magic and fairy tale character to it. In 2017, a new element was added to the name of the Silesian Amusement Park. That’s the whole legend of Legendia. 🙂
The Travel-Mates team visited the Chorzów amusement park together for the first time in 2024. We were impressed by the number of attractions and the beautiful location at the Zanzibar pond (formerly called “Koźlok”). The Silesian Amusement Park is tailored to the needs of guests of all ages. In total, there are over 40 different attractions here. Do you want to see our favorites?
Legendia – best attractions
Lech Coaster
Lech Coaster is a roller coaster that made our hearts beat faster and mixed adrenaline with endorphins. The car first took us to a height of 40 meters and then accelerated to a speed of 95 km/h. The free fall took our breath away, and the double corkscrew really confused us. The tracks are 908 meters long and the travel time is less than 1m 44s. At the time of its opening, in 2017, Lech Coaster was the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Poland (now it is overtaken by the 4 Energylandia rollercoasters, but apart from them it has no equal).
Apollo aka Cauldron
The Cauldron is a true sine wave, because this is the track its two-person wagons run on. Or rather, magical ladles that fly around the circumference of the wheel, sometimes rising vigorously and sometimes falling slightly. A rollercoaster of emotions guaranteed. Be careful when leaving the Cauldron, because it can really mess up the pot. I mean, in your head.
Dragon Temple
The Dragon Temple (which we tentatively called “The Bench”) put us in a state of weightlessness. When we sat in the comfortable gondola, we expected pleasant relaxation with nice views. However, it quickly turned out that despite its considerable dimensions, the 12-meter arm could rise and fall quite efficiently. One revolution takes only 6 seconds. Will this dragon defeat you? Fortunately, we managed to survive, but we were a little afraid that we would fall overboard.
Legendia Flower
The Ferris wheel is a real flower of Legendia – so it’s no wonder that in the old version it was called the Big Star. You can admire it in all its glory at the very top of this page. The huge wheel is the largest facility of this type in Poland. It measures as much as 40 meters and after renovation it is a wonderful showcase of the Silesian Amusement Park. Apart from its solid dimensions, we personally think that it is the most beautifully arranged Ferris wheel we have ever seen – from a distance it resembles a colorful wreath of flowers. While sitting in the carriage, we had the opportunity to admire the panorama of the area from a bird’s eye view. We found out that Silesia is not as gray as it is painted!
Tea Cups
And now it’s time for tea! Does anyone fancy a spinning five o’clock? If so, the Tea Cups carousel is for you. The five-person carriages, resembling porcelain cups, look very elegant. But they certainly don’t move like a bull in a china shop! On the contrary – they rotate quickly with ‘double power;. Both the small platform to which the cup is attached and the main platform rotate. When we leave the attraction, we feel really dizzy. Well, truly recommend!
Diamond River
Finally, the perfect option for a hot day – Diamond River. Marilyn Monroe sang that “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”, so all girls simply have to take advantage of this water attraction. And the guys should, of course, accompany them. You get into the wagon and sail along a special “river bed” until you finally reach the culmination point, i.e. the launching. At the end of the event, everyone had smiling faces, so we assume that you will be happy too. Be careful, you may splash a bit.
PS If you get your clothes wet, know that there is a “people dryer” waiting for you near the attraction.
You already know our “TOP 6”, but Legendia has many more attractions that will appeal not only to children and teenagers, but also to adults. While in the Silesian Amusement Park, be sure to also check out:

Legendia – visiting time
- The entrance ticket entitles you to use all the attractions of the Silesian Amusement Park for the whole day.
- +/- 3 hours were enough to fully satisfy us and left Legendia with big smiles on our faces. We visited about 10 attractions during this time. They turned our heads so much that we probably wouldn’t have had the energy to do anything more.
- Pleae remember that we didn’t have to wait in queues at all due to the low season. If you go to the Silesian Amusement Park during the high season (i.e. on a beautiful holiday day), you must take into account a larger number of people waiting for the most popular attractions. It will be safe if you book at least half a day for Legendia.

Legendia – tips
- This may seem obvious to some of you, but remember to wear comfortable sports clothes and laced shoes. We discourage dresses, high heels, suits and jewelry.
- If you carry your phone in your pocket, it is better to have pockets with a zipper. While using some attractions, you will find yourself “upside down” or simply at a considerable height. It wouldn’t be nice if your smartphone fell out unexpectedly.
- The grand opening of the oldest amusement park in Poland took place on 12.09.1959. It is not difficult to calculate that in 2024 the Silesian Amusement Park celebrated its 65th birthday. We wish you 100 or even 200 years!
- Apparently the Silesian Amusement Park was supposed to be called… “Bubuś” or “Polish Paradise”. Do you like it? In our opinion, the original and current names sound much better.
- Large Planes aka Samoloty Duże is the largest attraction operating since the park’s inception. The wagons are suspended at a height of as much as 45 meters, move at a speed of about 50 km/h, and one “flight” lasts about 12 minutes.
- Have you ever been to an amusement park at night? Try it during the unique Legendia at Night event, organized several times a year.
- “Bazyliszek” (“Basilisk”) is the first Interactive Dark Ride in Poland. The attraction was appreciated even internationally. Riding in 6-person carriages, you are not only a spectator, but also an active participant in an animation about the magical world of Basilisk, full of magic, monsters and obstacles.
Legendia – opinions / reviews
- Patrix –
- Wiolczix – 7/10. For me, an amusement park has always meant great fun, lots of smiles and good humor. As for Legendia, it is great in some aspects, but quite poor in others. Namely… New or restored attractions look and work flawlessly. The Ferris wheel (Legendia Flower) is even more beautiful than the London Eye, and the views from the top are wonderful. The inconspicuous Lech Coaster not only looks cool, but also swings sharply on the tracks. Cauldron and Dragon Temple are also amazing. But I have the impression that the authorities of the oldest amusement park in Poland are neglecting it a bit. Some attractions really needs renewal – sometimes a simple repainting. Despite everything, Legendia is the coolest amusement park in Poland I have ever been to (outside of Energylandia, of course).
