For us, it’s also a beautiful story about friendship, growing up, bravery, and the triumph of good over evil. If you too fell in love with the magical universe conjured up by J.K. Rowling, this Harry Potter exhibition is bound to tug at your heartstrings. So… Alohomora! We’re opening the door to the exhibition and inviting you to explore it with us. Harry Potter: The Exhibition – what is it? – photos

Harry Potter: The Exhibition is an interactive, touring exhibition that transports visitors into the world of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. It was created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences in collaboration with Imagine Exhibitions and Eventim Live — and it’s truly a global production! The exhibition premiered in 2022 in Philadelphia and has since been traveling to cities around the world. Thanks to this experience, you can now step into the magical world you’ve seen on screen or read about in the books and live it for yourself.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Poland

At the exhibition, you’ll see a whole array of original costumes and props — the very same ones used by the actors on set. Upon entry, you’ll also receive magical wristbands that let you earn points by completing interactive tasks. All the exhibits (both inanimate objects and “living” attractions) are accompanied by detailed descriptions. The plaques are packed with facts and fun trivia that will give you a solid dose of knowledge about the world of Harry Potter. Some may surprise you, others might make you laugh — but one thing’s for sure: you won’t be bored for a second.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition – interactive attractions

We know that admiring even the most fascinating exhibits isn’t quite as thrilling as diving into interactive attractions. Those are the ones that truly let you immerse yourself in the magical world. Want to know what kinds of activities await you at Harry Potter: The Exhibition? Here you go — here’s a list of tasks to complete.

Take a seat in the famous cupboard under the stairs

1. Harry Potter had a tough childhood. After the death of his parents at the hands of Lord Voldemort, he was placed under the care of his only relatives. However, they didn’t show him the proper care and love. They raised him with extreme strictness and turned a cupboard under the stairs into his room. At the exhibition, you can see just how small that space was.

Harry Potter The Exhibition platform

Visit Platform 9 and 3/4

2. The magical train to Hogwarts departs from Platform 9 and 3/4 at King’s Cross Station in London. To board it, one had to pick up speed in the Muggle world and then run into the wall at a specific spot, ultimately landing on the wizarding side of the magic. Will you manage to do it too? Here’s your chance to test it out!

Harry Potter The Exhibition Great Hall

Take a photo in the Great Hall

3. The most important and prestigious place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was, of course, the Great Hall. It was where the most significant meetings, celebrations, and ceremonies took place. At the richly laden tables, students and teachers alike celebrated the most important events. Don’t miss the chance to see this iconic room.

Harry Potter The Exhibition houses

Meet the four Hogwarts houses and their heroes

4. At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, there were four houses where young students could be sorted: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. The Sorting Hat made the choice based on the individual traits of each first-year student. Its decisions were never random. Find out who belonged to each house and why.

Harry Potter The Exhibition moving portraits

Face off with the characters from the moving portraits

5. In the world of Harry Potter, the paintings depicted characters who could speak, move, and even “travel” between frames. They also served as guardians. Do you remember the Fat Lady who guarded the entrance to the Gryffindor common room? She wouldn’t be missing from the exhibition.

Harry Potter The Exhibition wands

Take a look inside the wand shop

6. We’d dare to say that the wand is absolutely the most important tool in the world of Harry Potter. After all, no wizard exists without it. Interestingly, it is the wand that “chooses its owner.” We learn this early in the series during the visit to Ollivanders’ shop on Diagon Alley. At the exhibition, you’ll see not only wands in their original sizes but also their two-meter-tall sculptures. They’re truly impressive.

Harry Potter The Exhibition mandrakes

Transplant a mandrake

7. Do you remember mandrakes? These magical plants had a scream that could stun you. Hogwarts students learn how to transplant them during their Herbology lessons. They wear protective earmuffs to avoid the dangerous scream. Mature mandrakes have healing properties – their brew can reverse the effects of petrification. So it’s definitely useful to know how to handle them properly. Give it a try; you never know when this skill might come in handy!

Harry Potter Exhibition Marauders Map

Find your trace on the Marauder’s Map

8. The Marauder’s Map is a magical parchment created by James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. It showed the layout of Hogwarts and the current location of everyone on the school grounds. To activate it, you had to say, “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,” and to deactivate it – “Mischief managed.” Will you be able to find your name on it?

Harry Potter The Exhibition potions

Discover the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets

9. Do you remember where the entrance to the famous Chamber of Secrets was located? Who could open the powerful doors leading to this room? What language did you need to speak in order to do so? If you don’t know the answers to all these questions, make sure to catch up before you stand in front of the round doors of the chamber, guarded by the terrifying likenesses of snakes.

Harry Potter The Exhibition potions

Create your own potion

10. Potions are magical brews with a variety of properties – they can heal, change appearances, or even trigger strong emotions. Of course, Professor Snape was the expert in brewing them. Learning potion-making required precision, knowledge of ingredients, and the right techniques. Which potion would be most useful to you in real life? The Polyjuice Potion? The Love Potion? Or maybe Felix Felicis, the “Liquid Luck”? Decide for yourself.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Divination

Discover the mysterious prophecy hidden in the crystal ball

11. During Divination lessons, students practiced predicting the future using various methods – reading palms, tea leaves, or crystal balls. This subject was taught by the eccentric Professor Sybill Trelawney. Although many students, especially Hermione, were skeptical about Divination, some prophecies turned out to be true. How will it be for you?

Harry Potter The Exhibition Quidditch

Become a Quidditch master

12. Quidditch is a magical sport that brings a lot of excitement to the fans. It’s a bit like football on broomsticks. Two teams, each consisting of seven players — three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and one Seeker — compete. The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible by throwing the Quaffle and catching the Golden Snitch. Test yourself and see how you’d fare during a match.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Hagrids hut

Pay a visit to Hagrid’s hut

13. Hagrid’s hut is a cozy home located at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, not far from Hogwarts. It may be a bit run-down, but it has a friendly atmosphere. Inside, you can find interesting items and… extraordinary creatures. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were frequent visitors of Rubeus. At the exhibition, you too can sit in Hagrid’s giant armchair and feel that warm, homely atmosphere.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Portkey

Use the quick transport option with a Portkey

14. Portkeys had incredible magical power, but they were disguised as ordinary objects — like a worn-out shoe. They worked as a form of teleportation, often used to transport larger groups of wizards. For it to work, all participants must hold onto it at the same time. Touch the old shoe and land in the magical world of Harry Potter. (We ended up on Diagon Alley.)

Harry Potter The Exhibition dragon

Hide under the wings of a Hungarian Horntail

15. Do you remember the Triwizard Tournament? One of the tasks was to retrieve the golden egg from a nest guarded by a fearsome dragon. Each of the contestants had to face off against a different monster. Harry was tasked with facing the Hungarian Horntail, considered one of the most aggressive, fast, and agile dragons. Just take a look at this enormous creature!

Harry Potter The Exhibition Tournament Cup

See the Triwizard Tournament Cup with your own eyes

16. The prize in the incredibly difficult Triwizard Tournament, held since 1294, was the precious cup. Winning it brought the victor great fame and satisfaction. In the fourth book of the series, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, the trophy turned out to be a Portkey. Upon touching it, Harry and Cedric were transported to a graveyard where Lord Voldemort awaited. What does the famous cup look like in real life? Check it out.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Dolores Umbridge

Take a seat in Dolores Umbridge’s candy-colored office

17. Dolores Umbridge’s office is a sweet cover for her horrible personality. Don’t be fooled by the various shades of pink, stylish furniture, elegant teacups, and the omnipresent motif of cute kittens. The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was a true dictator. Do you remember the punishments she imposed on disobedient students? A hint can be found on the wall of her office.

Harry Potter The Exhibition Tom Riddle diary

Stop by Tom Riddle’s diary

18. Tom Riddle’s diary was both the first Horcrux created by Voldemort and the first Horcrux destroyed by Harry Potter. The young wizard did this by stabbing the diary with a basilisk fang. Would you be able to name all the Horcruxes? The complete set can, of course, be found at the exhibition.

Harry Potter The Exhibition sword

Take a close look at the legendary Sword of Godric Gryffindor

19. The Sword of Godric Gryffindor is a magical weapon that only appears to those who are true Gryffindors and show exceptional bravery. So if you see it at the exhibition, take it as a compliment. 😉 The sword has the ability to strengthen itself by absorbing things that make it more powerful, such as basilisk venom. This allows it to destroy Horcruxes, as Ron, Neville, and Professor Dumbledore proved.

Harry Potter Exhibition costumes

Discover interesting facts about Lord Voldemort’s robes

20. As we mentioned earlier, a large part of the exhibition focuses on costumes and props used on film sets. The symbolism of the materials and colors used often surprised us. In this regard, the most intriguing exhibit turned out to be Lord Voldemort’s unassuming robe, in which he fought his final battle against Harry.

Harry Potter The Exhibition opinions

These, of course, are not all the attractions waiting for you at the exhibition. We’ve revealed quite a bit, but there are still many surprises ahead. Neither photos nor videos can capture the magical atmosphere of Harry Potter: The Exhibition. If you’re true fans of J.K. Rowling’s magical universe, you must attend this event. Use a Portkey, Floo powder, a regular Muggle car or public transportation, but make sure to get to the exhibition. It’s truly worth it.

  • If you have the time, we recommend refreshing your memory of the Wizarding World universe before going to the exhibition.
