Treetop walk in Poznan – photos

Poznan footbridge in the treetops

We reached the Pozna艅 footbridge over the Szklarka River along a forest path running from the junction of Kra艅cowa and Wiankowa streets. After a few minutes of walking, we saw this view. A wooden footbridge stood proudly on tall columns. Where does it lead? We definitely had to check it out. If this structure scares you a bit, let us point out from the very beginning that there is no fear at the top. The footbridge not only looks visually attractive, but is also a really solid structure.

The name of this attraction does not lie – the path literally runs among the crowns of deciduous trees. Walking on the pier, we had the impression that it was suspended in the air. No wonder – at its highest point the footbridge rises to a height of 13 meters. During the walk, we were surrounded by a living, green wall on both sides. Take our word for it that it will definitely put you in a relaxing atmosphere. Along the wooden promenade there are wooden benches that encourage you to sit on them and stop for a moment (literally and figuratively).

We’re not sure it shows well in the photos, but when you look down, it may make you feel dizzy if you’re afraid of heights. It is also worth mentioning that the footbridge swings very gently during heavy traffic. About halfway along the route, you will encounter a gazebo with tables and seats. (Wooden, of course.) You can have a small picnic there or just relax. We looked into it on Sunday morning, and it looked as if its interior was used for party purposes during the weekend. And it’s nice – let young people integrate outdoors, rather than sitting at home in front of screens. 馃槈

There’s not much to write. A walk through the treetops is an extremely pleasant experience. Additionally, the wood fits perfectly into the forest background, so it does not disturb the natural landscape. You can really relax here and hear the sounds of nature – the rustle of leaves and the sounds of birds, of which there are plenty in the treetops. The disadvantage of the Pozna艅 footbridge over Szklarka is its length, or rather “shortness”. It measures only 250 meters. The walk ends (too) quickly, but in our opinion it is still worth coming here. We don’t know anyone who left the footbridge disappointed. On a different note… Is this the perfect place for a romantic date? Maybe. 馃槈

Google shows us that the attraction is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. We didn’t see any gates at the entrance or exit, so it’s possible that the attraction is also open at night, but these are just our guesses.

Treetop path – Pozna艅 – how to get?

Attention, attention! There are rumors that some people have trouble finding the entrance to the forest path leading to the footbridge. It is easy to find – there is a wooden signpost next to it. And also the lovely woman raising her hands in the air in the photo below, showing you the right place. (The signpost is always there, the woman was only there for a moment.)

The footbridge among the trees over Szklarka, aka the “treetop path”, is located in the Szklarka Valley in the Antoninek forestry area in Pozna艅 (a stone’s throw from the New Zoo and Lake Malta).

Footbridge among the trees over Szklarka – reviews

  • Patrix – 7/10. Walking among the treetops is an incredibly pleasant experience – seeing the trees up close is a nice feeling. Unfortunately, the walk ends very quickly. The crossing takes just a few minutes one way.
  • Wiolczix – 6/10. It’s nice, but this attraction didn’t blow me away. It’s great that the footbridge is made of wood, and there are trees rustling and birds singing around. Thanks to this, you can relax from the sounds of the city. But don’t expect to spend half a day here, because the entire walk through the treetops took us about 10 minutes in one direction. And you move horizontally, so you won’t be amazed by the views here because you are surrounded by trees. There is – unfortunately – no viewing point here. It would be enough to organize a small tower and it would be nicer. But lest I only complain, it’s still a great initiative on the city’s part. And the price is also fair.
